Lamb’s Conduit Street has for sometime been heralded for its eclectic mix of independent shops, providing visitors with a refreshingly unique shopping experience compared to your typical high street. This is no more apparent than when entering, Darkroom, the pioneering retail destination which offers a diverse mix of accessories for men, women and the home.
Founders, Rhonda Drakeford and Lulu Roper-Caldbeck, are the well esteemed creatives behind this veritable treasure trove and their hands on approach ensures their collections are frequently updated with products by new and undiscovered designers from around the world, making every visit an exciting one!
The concept for the store is to ‘provide a stimulating antidote to the generic and bland, whilst also recognising the basic human desire for beauty and comfort’. And this they do with their leaning towards graphic contrast and geometric products sitting so strikingly against the black backdrop of the store. It no doubt, encourages (in their own words) any visitor to ‘linger, get lost and discover something new’!
What’s hot this month?
We love this matt-black powder-coated aluminium geometric bowl which can be grouped with other bowls and vases from their geometry range – they even suggest turning it upside down!
This Adé cushion is a classic Darkroom design, which they say even pre-dates their Lamb's Conduit Street store! The playful African print, crafted using a wax printing process, lifts any block colour backdrop.
How about this Recycled Leather A5 Landscape Pearl colour notebook? Not surprisingly, it is most popular with the artists, architects and designers amongst us and we can see why.
We highly recommend visiting www.darkroomlondon.com to see their full range and to sign up to their newsletter to receive 20% off your first order.
